OK, so the last one of the stickers I’m thinking about making. Three seemed like a good number to start with. . . . . . #basket #basketry #basketweaving #shaker #shakerbasket #sticker #flowers #bouquet #watercolor

Getting down to the endo of my @johnccampbellfolkschool retrospective (to clarify, this class with Betty Maney took place at the end of February). Rim stock shaped and fit to the basket. Initially I was very happy with the heavy outer rim I was able to get out of my white oak stock. Typically I love a chunky rim on my baskets, but Cherokee baskets tend to have lighter rims. Even some 9 months after class I’m still not 100% sure about them. . . . . . #basket #basketry #basketweaving #whiteoak #whiteoakbasket #cherokee #johnccampbellfolkschool #jccfs #folkschool #diy #handmade

Sorry, I haven’t posted more of my @johnccampbellfolkschool retrospective (to clarify, this class with Betty Maney took place at the end of February). I didn’t get any other process shots as we were busy cutting all of the weavers to width and weaving the sides. After finishing the pattern it is time to tuck down the uprights. . . . . . #basket #basketry #basketweaving #whiteoak #whiteoakbasket #cherokee #johnccampbellfolkschool #jccfs #folkschool #diy #handmade

Continuing my @johnccampbellfolkschool retrospective (to clarify, this class with Betty Maney took place at the end of February). After cutting the splint to width, we laid out the base with alternating natural and dyed splints. Notice the key-hole joint in the base of the handle. No nails or glue were used. . . . . . #basket #basketry #basketweaving #whiteoak #whiteoakbasket #cherokee #johnccampbellfolkschool #jccfs #folkschool #diy #handmade

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. So I have started linking my Instagram posts to my blog. This is great as it helps me keep content fresh here, but I am supposed to go in an write lengthier descriptions which I usually don't do for a couple of days.

The bummer is that a few months back something change with Instagram and about two years worth of photos all disappeared. I am slowly trying to relink all of those, but it is a tedious process. Also in May of 2017 Google changed something behind the scenes and traffic dropped from hundreds of view to dozens of views. It is very frustrating to go from 700 readers to 35 overnight. This has happened to everyone, so who knows if/when that might get fixed (but nobody even knows what the problem is).

Anyway, to see galleries of the baskets I have made and collected over the last 30 years, along with photos from classes I have attended and hosted visit JASkets.com
