Since I have had a chance to blog in awhile I thought I would at least put up a pretty picture (at least I think it is pretty). This is one of my favorite baskets (I wrote about it a few years ago). You may think I sat it in the tiger maple Shaker-style chair to simply create a little tableau, but it actually serves a valuable service. It keeps the kitties from laying on the newly woven Shaker tape seat.
Nice basket! Your cats must be rather well behaved - my 2 would simply push the basket off the chair and settle in for a nap.
ReplyDeleteI found an antique ash berry basket yesterday at a garage sale. I LOVE the handle on the basket - worn and smooth. It was thrown in with a bunch of China baskets. I rescued it and will post it soon on my blog. $1.00! ~Ann
Great find. I always look through the pile of cheap imported baskets hoping I will find a treasure. One of these days I will!

ReplyDeleteThanks. I think it is so hard to take photographs like I see in magazines. I can see the little still life in my head, but it never looks the same on film (or computer screen these days). I keep trying though.
